Hypnotherapy explained in this You-Tube clip.
I know taking the first step into counselling or hypnotherapy can feel daunting—you might have uncertainties or fears about what to expect. That’s perfectly natural, and my goal is to make this journey as comfortable and reassuring as possible for you. Let’s walk through what your first couple of sessions will look like, so you’ll feel informed and at ease.
Your First Session
Our first meeting will last about 50 to 60 minutes, exchanging information and expectations for future sessions. This is your time to share what you’d like to achieve through hypnotherapy. I would like to take this opportunity to explore how you process information, so I can create a script tailored specifically to your needs. Everything moves at a pace you’re comfortable with—there’s no rush or pressure.
As we approach the end of our first session, if you feel ready and comfortable, we can explore a brief hypnotherapy state. This is just a gentle introduction to see if hypnotherapy is a good fit for you. Not everyone finds it easy to relax into a hypnotic state initially, and that’s absolutely okay. This experience will also help you start to build a sense of trust and connection with me, so future sessions feel even more natural.
If you decide to continue with hypnotherapy, I will then create a bespoke script designed specifically to address your concerns. Your next session will be ready and waiting for you when you feel prepared to take that step.
Your Second Session
In this session, we’ll gently guide you deeper into the hypnotherapy process. You’ll have the opportunity to get comfortable—with your head and neck supported—so you can fully relax. You may notice the sounds, smells, or the temperature in the room as part of the experience. That’s all part of becoming present and grounded.
This session will also introduce you to relaxation therapy, a powerful tool you can use at home to feel more centered and in control. As we progress, I’ll use carefully chosen imagery and techniques to redirect unhelpful thoughts or triggers, helping you move closer to your goals.
